John J. Burns III, CPA
John joined GPCD Partners, LLC in 2007. Prior to his current position, he spent seventeen years in industry where he has served as the Chief Financial Officer and Controller for a successful privately held industrial equipment manufacturer. He was responsible for all aspects of the financial management of the company including financial reporting, cost accounting, systems design and selection, risk management, banking relationships, investment policy, tax planning and compliance and strategic planning.
John started his professional career working in public accounting. He spent eight years on the audit staff of a large regional accounting firm, Stockton Bates & Company. He also performed on the firm's technical review committee. John is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also serves in a financial capacity as a member of the board of Overbrook Golf Club located on Philadelphia's Main Line. John is an avid golfer.
Patricia L.S. Combs, CPA
Tricia joined GPCD Partners, LLC when she and co-owner Martin T. Sarkees, Jr. merger their accounting practice, The Martin T. Sarkees Corporation, with GPCD in 2007. Tricia has over 17 years experience in public accounting. Tricia has specific experience in the completion of compilation, review and audit engagements and the preparation of related workpapers. She also has experience in the performance of special projects including the completion of audit procedures and the preparation of related workpapers for review by the client's external auditors.
Tricia started as a staff accountant with The Martin T. Sarkees Corporation in 1991 after graduating from Lehigh University. Tricia is an active member of the AICPA and the PICPA and is Troop Leader of Brownie Troop 1292. Tricia lives in the Media area with her husband and their four children.
Martin T. Sarkees, Jr.
Martin joined GPCD Partners, LLC when he and co-owner Tricia Combs merged their accounting practice, The Martin T. Sarkees Corporation, with GPCD in 2007. Martin has over 16 years public accounting and industry management experience. Martin is responsible for providing tax compliance and planning services and business consultation for a diverse base of clients including; professional service firms, retailers, and non-profit organizations. He started his professional career with Johnson & Johnson in 1992. During his employment with Johnson & Johnson, Martin held various positions within the company including Strategic Planner and Manufacturing Team Leader. He left Johnson & Johnson in 1998 to work for The Martin T. Sarkees Corporation. Martin has successfully blended his classic training in operations management with the challenges inherent in the practice of public accounting.
Martin graduated from Drexel University and is pursuing a JD, concentration in tax, at Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law. He is an active member of several local organizations including; Vice President of the Board of Family & Community Services of Delaware County, Trustee of the Media-Upper Providence Free Library, member of the Government Affairs Committee of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Rotary Club of Media. Martin retired from a ten-year career in rugby in 2002 and now enjoys golf as a member of The Springhaven Club. Martin lives in the Media area with his wife and their two children.
